This Is What E-Waste Looks Like in the Middle of the Process
Shredded. Separated. Moving. The unglamorous middle stage of e-waste recycling — where mixed streams of plastics, fragments, and residual components get handled, sorted, and sent in the right direction.
Shredded. Separated. Moving.
What you're seeing is a mixed stream of material — plastics, fragments, residual components — running through our Preston facility. This is the unglamorous part of recycling that nobody photographs. We did.
Where the Real Work Happens
Because this is where most of the real work happens. Not at the point of collection. Not at the end when materials re-enter manufacturing. Here — in the middle — where complex mixed streams get handled, sorted, and sent in the right direction.
Most of what people associate with recycling is the moment of drop-off, or the finished recycled product on a shelf. The stage in between — the sorting, the separation, the decisions about what can be recovered and what can't — is what determines whether any of it actually becomes circular.
The Same Process, UK and US
We run this across our facilities in the UK and the United States. The same approach to handling complex mixed streams, the same commitment to recovery over disposal.
- Preston, Lancashire — our UK processing headquarters, operational since 2019
- Riverbank, California — our US facility serving the Western US market
- Janesville, Wisconsin — planned Midwest expansion, 2026+
